A Case of Rhinolithiasis

Abstract
Rhinoliths are called as nasal concretions or nasal calculi.
They are usually unilateral and located, in the majority of instances, in the lower portion of the nasal cavity.
The stones vary in shape but usually conform to the shape of the nasal cavities.
Recently the author experienced a case of rhinolith in the right nasal cavity of 20year old male suffering from nasal obstruction on the right side, malodorous. purulent discharge and headache since about 10 years ago.
Anterior rhinoscopy of the nose revealed a white gray hard mass between the septum and the inferior turbinate at the anterior portion of the right nasal cavity.
Under local anesthesia, the mass measuring 2.5cmX 1.5cmX2cm and weighing approximately 2.5gm was removed with the use of a hook and nasal forceps.
